Meet Saumu...

As a young girl, Saumu once got really sick and almost died. Her mother, who was a traditional healer managed to treat and also gave her the power to heal other sick people in her Duruma community. (Duruma is a sub tribe of the larger Mijikenda who are Coastal Bantus in Kenya)

Any time a patient visits her hut in the heart of Kilifi, Saumu, an experienced Traditional healer, chants some words in an effort to commune with her ancestors and Mulungu (God), so as to get revelation on the diagnosis.

Her prowess spreads far and wide, and many people visit her in an effort to access the services which also include protective charms.
